Corporate Profile
WestDev Ltd and Number One Systems
WestDev is a dynamic company formed to
provide a quality development and customer oriented service. WestDev's staff
are a mixture of top flight computer programmers with many years experience
in main stream and leading edge EDA (Electronic Design Automation) CAD, and
staff capable of providing a focused service to the customers.
WestDev purchased the exclusive rights to the
Number One Systems name, stock and all product names including the
simulators and ancillary products in November 1998 and are now trading as
Number One Systems.
As a software development house WestDev are
more than qualified to continue the development of all the Windows based
products and to move them forward into the Millennium and beyond, thus
ensuring a continued growth path, enabling us to grow with our customers own
requirements as a 'partnership' with complete continuity.
Why Purchase Number One Systems products?
Number One Systems' own history and pedigree speaks for itself:
Number One Systems was formed in 1978 as an electronic design house
specialising in producing "ready-for-production" product designs and one-off
pieces of test equipment for other companies. Before long, the client list
included companies like Texas Instruments, ITT, British Aerospace and the
Ordnance Survey. While working on a display adapter for one of the first
micro-computers in the early eighties, it was realised that writing simple
programs in BASIC would help with many of the design problems that were
being faced at that time. One of these, a circuit analysis tool for
predicting the frequency response behaviour of analogue circuits proved so
successful that it saved hours of design time and very many bread-board
iterations. When it was shown to the engineers in some of the 'partner'
companies, they were equally enthusiastic and there was encouragement to
advertise it to a wider market. That program went on to become the first
version of Analyser.
In the late eighties, the first PCB layout
design program was launched, EASY-PC. EASY-PC was an instant success,
winning a prestigious British Design Award, presented by HRH the Duke of
Edinburgh, in 1989.
On the circuit simulation side, a digital
simulator, Pulsar Professional, was introduced to complement Analyser.
Pulsar outperformed any physical test equipment with six logic levels, a
logic-analyser type display that never misses a glitch - even down to one
pico-second in a week - and fully programmable signal sources.
RF engineers looking for a more efficient way
of using Smith Chart techniques were served by Z-Match Professional, while
every business that manufactures small batches of the products it designs
will benefit from our Stock Control and Kitting program, Stockit
Professional.
The product range was broadened with the
introduction of Filtech Professional, a filter circuit synthesis program
that takes all the pain out of designing both active and passive filters and
Layan, a unique program that let you see the true performance of
your analogue, RF and microwave circuits - including the effects of the PCB
or substrate.
With the growing popularity of the Windows platform, the DOS product range
was phased out in favour of a range of true Windows applications providing
solutions at unrivalled price/performance levels, covering Schematic Capture,
mixed-mode Spice Simulation, PCB Layout, Auto-Routing, circuit analysis and
Stock Control.
With sales/service offices in Europe and
around the world, and over 45,000 licenses in more than 100 countries
world-wide, Number One Systems is the acknowledged leader in affordable
Electronics CAD software. Take a few minutes to browse around this site and
we think you'll see why.
