I need to create components that have no electrical components. These are needed for the parts list and sometimes also for mechanical definition on the PCB and for silkscreen additions.

The library part works fine, but "forward design changes" does not put them onto the PCB if they have no electrical pads.
Of course I can add pads and connect them to something, but I wouldn't mind doing without that.

That's the problem with having the links between schematic and pcb based on a netlist. If it doesn't appear in the netlist, it's effectively invisible. Sometimes that can be a help, such as when using a schematic drawing frame, but you're experiencing the negative side.

Because this is so fundamental to the way the program works, I'm not sure what can be done about it, but I will pass the issue on to the programming team.
