Posted - 20 Mar 2026 : 00:16:31 Hi, Is the Easy-PC installer 64bit ?, as i can never get it to work on a 32bit prefixed Wine configuration.
I can see that Number One supports Windows 10 until October 2026, so does this mean that from that date onwards, Easy-PC will become a 64bit program since no official windows OS is 32bit ?.

Posted - 20 Mar 2026 : 11:07:30 Hi Peter, Thanks for the reply.
For version 28 and 29 i could not get it to install using a 32bit Wine instance, but that was using version 9 or version 10 Wine.
I was able to get it to install on a 64bit version instance using Wine version 10, but had graphics problems, switched to Caffe 9.7, and that functions as expected.
I doubt Microsoft will drop 32bit support.
I asked as the shenanigans with Fedora and Oracle Virtual Box issues with the latest kernel meant i could not test the whether the installer was 32bit or not.
It seems that Wine 10 64bit instance can handle the 32bit installer no problems, but the 32bit instance cannot. So i can continue to use Wine/Caffe without the need for a Windows 11 VM in the future.
Thanks and regards, Shadders. |

Posted - 20 Mar 2026 : 10:52:31 A considerable number of years ago, The programming team carried out an exercise regarding converting Easy-PC to a 64 bit application. The outcome was that the resources required for this outweighed any potential benefits so it didn't happen.
The current position is that Easy-PC is still 32 bit and likely to remain so unless Microsoft announce that they're going to discontinue support for 32 bit applications (as has already happened for legacy 16 bit applications)
The installer is also 32 bit as this works better for a 32 bit application, so it's unclear why that's giving a problem. |
