Hi,
I am trying to auto rename all components in a pcb design. When i do, i end up with multiple references that are the same.
Has anyone ever seen this before and could enlighten me as to what i'm doing wrong.
Thank you.

Thanks for the reply, that's a good idea for a workaround.
I have 2 boards in the same design.
i have tried renaming each board seperately and all boards together but end up with the same problem. I've never seen this happen before.
The duplicated items are always on the opposite sides of the board.
This design isn't critical as there is only a few components on it, however, i am about to rename a PCB with hundreds of components on so don't want to have to do that one manually.

The only way I know of to get multiple references is in a design that includes multiple boards, by default they would be renamed individually. Do you accidentally have a duplicate board outline?

one extra piece of information.
The duplicated references are on different layers. If this helps..
