I'm getting a disconnect between a schematic's variants and a PCBs variants.
The BOM composer can be invoked from any screen, Project, Schematic and PCB
The BOM composer has options - Generate from PCB, Generate from SCM/PRJ
I have ticked Generate from PCB, and Separate each Variant

The schematic has a daughter card BeagleBone which is defined as two parts - each a 2x23 0.1 matrix - labeled U7.

In Design Technology Variants I have "Design Variants" ticked and the following variants show
<all Variants>
BBB
Base
Effectively two variants defined 1) BBB and 2)Base. The purpose is all boards are built with Base and some of them will have the added BBB loaded.

Looking at Settings.Component Variants I have U7 BBB:Fitted and base: Unfitted - correct, my intention.
I do Tools Integrity check - and it finds nothing to forward.
Stepping into PCB tab, and bringing up Setttings-Component Variants- it says BBB: unfitted Base:Fitted - wrong.
If I now bring up Output. Bom Composer - U7 is listed under the wrong variant
In PCB Setttings-Component Variants-I change to BBB:Fitted and base: Unfitted - and exit
Then I try Tools Integrity check - and it finds nothing different.
If I now bring up Output. Bom Composer - it lists it where I want it.
But now I don't have confidence in Tools Integrity Check

What could be going wrong with forwarding U7 variants options from schematic to PCB?

Will try and snapshot it and send it in.
I switched to doing it from the project page and I haven't seen any now.

can't really say why it doesn't work, what you are doing sounds okay. The quickest way to get this resolved is probably to send the files to our support mailbox and ask for help there. Our support team has access to the developers for further advice and diagnostics so they can get right inside the application and work it out for you.
