I have made a component whith a built-in cutout. To do this, I added a layer (Board Cutout) to the component and the PCB design. In the board outline plot I selected the layers [Board Outline] and Board Cutout.

This works nicely when the symbol is fully inside the board outline. But if the symbol is on the edge of the board, the cutout on the outside of the outline becomes a solid piece of board. So outside the actual board outline, I have these small pieces of board sticking out. I'd like to show a screenshot of this, but I can't insert pictures.

Does anybody know how to solve this? Or maybe share a better way to make board cutouts in components?

@edrees:
Yeah, that could be a way to do it. Thanks.

I think this is generally how the (pcb) cutout " toggle" works.
Try changing the pcb cutout of the component to a silk screen shape, then adding the "cutout" to the pcb design instead.
