With a pad or component you can usually right-click on it and manually enter co-ordinates for precise positioning, but I cannot seem to do this for board edges, silk screen lines etc. Unless I've missed something, why is this? |

When you select the shape the various points (start and end), radius or length and width are defined along with start co-ordinates.
That is the simplest way i have found for editing some shapes.

Posted - 09 Nov 2015 : 10:40:50 Ok, we're getting there, that works but I still can't move a line as a whole, only one end then the other - the cursor jumps to the end of the segment (aka the highlighted line), even though the "Edit segment towards nearest end" option in PCB Interaction (Preferences) is unticked? |

Posted - 09 Nov 2015 : 10:04:43 This is great for setting a fresh line or outline but not for adjusting an existing one.
All I'm saying is that if I want to adjust a pad or component, I can either click Properties and manually enter co-ords, or click and drag whilst watching the co-ords at the lower-right of the screen. For lines or edges of shapes though you don't get offered the former option, I only seem to be able to do the latter.
