Hi,

I am using the Pro Router, and one particular area of the board has a very small IC - 3mm x 3mm, 32 pins.

Pro Router for some reason keeps on using Large Vias in this vicinity as well as Vias (smaller) - which seems to stop auto routing of some connections due to space.

Default Via is set to Via (smaller).

Is this a known issue that Pro Router will use Vias randomly ?.

What are the rules used to select either Small Vias, Vias, or Large Vias by Pro Router ?.

Does the new inbuilt Easy PC Router behave differently or have a different rule set for slecting Via types ?.

Thanks and regards,

Richard.

Searched the settings - found that in the technology file the Net Classes has Large Via set for Power signal.
