Hello everyone.
How is your display performance ? cause mine on unsatisfactory.
I have 170x170mm pcb - not very complicated and even if i have only 2 layers on it is still doing very slow comparing to super smooth Altium (10/10) and bit less Eagle (7/10). EasyPC scores for 2/10.

Is there a way to improve that?

Tested on I7, 8GB, SSD, HD7700, w7 64

here you have sample:

I think there was an update that addressed poor graphics performance so it's worth making sure you have the latest patch.

I usually have to turn off net names in pads and tracks on large designs to get reasonable performance.

I have latest one v20.0.1.

I turned off net name on track and I can see significant improvement - 4/10 now :)
I can't believe this change performance so much! must be crap software engineering.

I still have option "draw pad names inside pads" on.
So when I zoomed out (so can see pad names) it's running smoothly.
When zoom in and pad names displayed it's same crap as before.

Sorry, I can't see any significant reduction in speed compared to V19.
Running WIn7/64 Pro Ver. 20.0.1 with latest (unreleased) patch. Performance perfectly acceptable to me.

John,

In short no .... apparently only recent complainant ! however switching off pad numbers displayed in pads helps a lot.
It is a big layout but I have had much bigger many moons ago and can't really say I noticed it then.

Are you having the same issues ?

Hi Iain,

I see much the same here, especially on large designs. I have a couple of boards that are roughly 370x130mm with just under 4000 pins. For these I have to turn off all of the fancy stuff, so no pad names / net names etc.

Ian.

My largest design these days is only 100mm square so there's no problem with the speed of the display.
