When I export gerbers I get a .txt file named "transcode report." What is the purpose of this file? Looks related to the drill file only. I typically have deleted the file before sending the package to the board house but I'm wondering if it's useful for them?
Mark, I've had "similar" files created when viewing the Gerbers in a 3rd party viewer. My gut feeling is that it is a "lookup table to convert "D" codes to "text" apertures, - but I might be wrong! Try opening it with a txt editor. Certainly of no use to the pcb fabricator,-as I've never sent them!
I always check my files in viewmate directly after exporting so I thought the file was coming from Easy-pc but your right it was coming from the gerber viewer. I wouldn't have thought it would create a file into my design folders....
