A PCB layout has suddenly sprung a single pin net which cannot be deleted and isn't present on the matching schematic. DRC reports the location of this single-pin net, but there is nothing there and the component pin it is supposed to be attached to is in a completely different location and has another net connected to it.
Any ideas on how I might remove the offending unwanted net?

It was an unused net which Easy PC claimed to be connected to one pin of a resistor, but it wasn't present in the schematic only on the PCB layout. It couldn't be deleted there because it was "In Use"!
However the problem went away when I rebooted Windoze. Just closing down Easy PC and restarting didn't cure the problem, but after a reboot the net was marked as unused and could be deleted.

Sounds like an old bug in pcb editor. Every so often a single connection will form with no real location. Usually re-working a design.
One solution was to send files to Number One for correction.
One trick found was to drag a pad onto the screen then add the offending net to the pad. Refresh screen would show the yellow trace from the pad to the non existing pin location.
Select pad then delete. This usually removes the net/single pin problem. Not sure about newer versions but could try next time it happens.
